My partner gave me a household appliance for our 5-year anniversary

We just reached our 5-year milestone anniversary.

We just reached our 5-year milestone anniversary. I spent two months secretly coordinating with his friends to buy him a custom, rare vintage watch that he’s been talking about for years, spending close to $600 of my personal savings. I wrapped it beautifully and wrote a long, meaningful letter about our life together.
Tonight at dinner, he handed me a large commercial cardboard box. Inside was a high-end digital robotic floor mop.
He smiled proudly and said, "Now you won't have to spend so much time cleaning the kitchen tiles every weekend, this optimizes the house routine\!"
I tried to smile and be grateful, but my heart completely sank. It felt like he didn't see me as his romantic partner; he saw me as a domestic manager who needed better tools to clean the house. When I gently told him later that a utility appliance felt a bit unromantic for a five-year milestone, he got upset, calling me materialistic and saying I don't appreciate practical investments. Am I being ungrateful, or is a cleaning tool a terrible anniversary gift?
