I found out my partner logs every single penny I spend on a shared spreadsheet

My partner Liam and its always been pretty careful with money, which I usually respect. We split everything 50/50, rent, utilities, groceries, and it seemed to work fine. But last night he left his laptop open on the kitchen island because he went down to grab the mail. I noticed an active Excel sheet named "Household Audit."

I looked at it, and my stomach dropped. He doesn't just log our shared bills. He has a separate tab with my name on it where he has tracked every single independent purchase I’ve made over the last six months.

Things like "Coffee with friend \- $6.50," "Target trip (unnecessary decor) \- $22.00," and even "Gas station snack \- $4.15." Next to some entries, he wrote notes like "Impulse buy, needs monitoring" or "Budget leakage."

I pay my half of everything on time and I have my own savings. He has never mentioned this spreadsheet to me once. It feels like an incredibly creepy level of surveillance and financial monitoring. When I asked him about it, he got defensive and said he’s just "planning for our future stability" and analyzing our collective habits. I feel completely violated and controlled in my own home. Is this a normal tracking habit or a massive red flag?
